SPEAKER – Unique composition and functional role of Indian gut microbiome revealed through multiomics approaches
The main focus of Vineet’s lab is to analyse the human-associated microbiome of the Indian population, particularly the gut and skin microbiome, to gain functional insights, and also to compare it with the healthy and disease datasets across the world. He is also the founder and coordinator of the Innovation and Incubation Centre of Entrepreneurship (IICE) at IISER Bhopal. He obtained his PhD in Bioinformatics and Biomedical Sciences from Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (IGIB), New Delhi in 2006. After completing his doctoral research, he worked as a Scientist at RIKEN, Japan for about five years and joined IISER Bhopal after returning to India in the year 2011.
